101. The Crashing Blow (1 – 11)

A Meccan sura which gives some scenes from the Resurrection and Judgement.

In the name of God, the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of Mercy

1The Crashing Blow! 2What is the Crashing Blow? 3What will explain to you what the Crashing Blow is? 4On a Day when people will be like scattered moths 5and the mountains like tufts of wool, 6the one whose good deeds are heavy on the scales 7will have a pleasant life,8but the one whose good deeds are light 9will have the Bottomless Pit for his homea Literally ‘his mother is the bottomless pit’.10what will explain to you what that is? —11a blazing fire.
