    Nastaliq

    A hybrid form of Arabic calligraphy. First introduced by a Persian calligrapher as a lighter variation of writing. A compound word, nastaliq is derived from naskh and taliq, two more common styles of calligraphy. This hybrid form was frequently used by Persian artists in the production of nonsacramental texts.
