    Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP)

    Singapore Islamic association. Established in 1991 due to the perception within the Singapore-Malay community that Malay political leaders are ineffective in representing the interests of the community. Headed by volunteer Malay Muslim professionals. Presents a potential mechanism for Singapore Malay Muslims to express their needs and interests. Sees its role as a think tank, mobilizer, and problem solver in the development and progress of the Singapore Malay Muslim community. Carries out research and publishes its findings. Conducts programs in early childhood development, enrichment classes for students, courses in parental education, and skill training for workers.
