    World Council of Mosques

    The Muslim counterpart to the Christian World Council of Churches. Founded in 1975 as a sub-organization of the Muslim World League. Specializes in coordination of missionary activities. Supports the establishment of a jurisprudence council entrusted with the elaboration and control of internationally accepted standards of Islamic law. Supported the opening of the Islamic Fiqh Academy in Saudi Arabia in 1976 .
