Abd Allah ibn Saba

Enigmatic alleged founder of Shii Islam (advocating rule by Muhammad 's nephew Ali ). His origins and political role are contested in early sources. To him are attributed extremist ideas of Ali's divinity and divine appointment, and the belief that Ali was not dead but would return to bring righteousness on earth.
