World Community of Islam in the West

Reformist group headed by Warith Deen Muhammad that split from the racial supremicism and nationalism of the Black Muslims in 1976 in favor of a closer connection to mainstream Sunni Islam. Aimed to increase international awareness of Islam and its practice on a global scale. Changed its name to the American Muslim Mission in 1978 .
